About the RAP

The Resettlement Action Plan (RAP) is a key document that specifies the measures to be taken to mitigate adverse effects, compensate losses, and provide development benefits to the people and communities affected by the project. The RAP is vital given that the project requires land acquisition and population resettlement. It will handle the movement and resettlement of communities within the reservoir area and work to restore and enhance their economic livelihoods. Grievance procedures will be established to ensure that the resettled and host communities are able to lodge complaints or concerns regarding compensation and restoration of livelihoods.

VRA has contracted a consultant, Tractabel Engineering, to undertake the RAP.
