"We Shall Rise to the Challenge of Building a Resilient , Viable and Responsible "NEW VRA'" - Chief Executive

The Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa has reiterated the Authority’s resolve to rise to the challenge of building a resilient, viable and responsible “New VRA”, which continuously delivers on its mandate of providing/supplying dependable energy solutions for the good people of Ghana.

He gave the assurance at a colorful event held at the Electro Volta House, Accra, to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of the Authority.

In his address, Mr. Antwi-Darkwa acknowledged the support and cooperation of successive governments, stakeholders, Staff (present and retired), sister Power utilities, the media, diplomatic corps and the general public towards the success of VRA’s business over the past six decades. He assured stakeholders of the Authority’s commitment to expanding as an engine of rapid industrialization and electrification.

In their goodwill messages, the Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Mr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu; the Chief Executive of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), Ing. Jonathan Amoako-Baah; and representatives of the Northern Electricity Company (NEDCo) and VRA Retirees Association underscored VRA’s contribution to Ghana’s development and urged the Authority to remain focused in its provision of reliable and sustainable power in the years ahead.

Climaxing the day at all VRA work locations were the symbolic cutting of the anniversary cake, serving of tasty local non-alcoholic drinks at mini-bars and memorable photoshoots.
