Ing. (Mrs.) Sophia Tijani is the 'Industry Trailblazer of the Year'

The Manager, Learning, Development and Talent Management at the Human Resources Department of VRA, Ing. (Mrs.) Sophia Abena Tijani continues to bring great honour and value to women in engineering especially those in VRA.

The latest addition to her success story occurred when she was rewarded with the ‘Industry Trailblazer Award 2023’ at the third edition of the Women In Mining and Energy Awards (WIMEA 2023) ceremony held at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra.

The awards ceremony which recognized the outstanding achievements, contributions and value additions of women in the mining and energy sectors, also conferred on VRA the 'Excellence in Diversity Programs and Performance Award (Energy) 2023' and 'Best Company In Women Empowerment Initiatives Award 2023.'

The ceremony which also sought to create awareness of the importance and need for the inclusion of women in the two sectors also saw the VRA Ladies Association adjudged as the 'Best Women Network Group 2023'.
