The Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority (VRA), Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa has reiterated the Authority's unwavering commitment to supporting Ghana’s industrial sector through sustainable energy supply and innovative solutions. He gave the assurance at the opening ceremony of the 2024 Ghana Industrial Summit and Exhibition (GISE) organized by the Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) in partnership with VRA.

In an address read on his behalf by the Deputy Chief Executive (Finance), Dr. Ebenezer Tagoe, Mr. Antwi-Darkwa said that VRA, over the years, had made significant investments in expanding its generation capacity, integrating renewable energy sources, and exploring innovative energy solutions to support Ghana’s industrial sector.

He noted that by providing businesses with the power they need to operate efficiently, the Authority aims to contribute significantly to the development of value chains that can compete globally. He, therefore, assured industry leaders and stakeholders of the Authority’s commitment to providing energy solutions that are not only reliable but also clean, affordable, sustainable and tailored to the evolving needs of industries.

The 3-day Summit, being organized from September 16 – 18, 2024, under the theme, “Promoting Value Chains for Competitive Industrial Development”, would provide an avenue for the private sector to dialogue with policymakers, investors and other key industry players on strategic issues relating to the promotion of local content and value chains aimed at shaping Ghana’s industrial landscape.

A key highlight for VRA during the event would be the launch of its suite of Value-Added Services designed to help industries optimize their energy use, reduce cost, and enhance operational efficiency.
