Joint Reconnaissance Team inspects Kumasi 1 Thermal Power Plant (K1TPP) Ahead of Commissioning

A team on Saturday, April 6, paid a courtesy call on the Ashanti Regional Minister, Honourable Simon Osei-Mensah, to inform him of the upcoming commissioning of the Kumasi 1 Thermal Power Plant (K1TPP) at Anwomaso, in the Oforikrom Municipality of the Ashanti Region.

The team led by Ing. Daniel Onny, Director, Strategic Projects & New Business, and Ing. Samuel Lamptey, Director, Technical Services, also carried out a recce, after the courtesy call, at the plant site to discuss all scheduled arrangements for the commissioning.

Ing. Onny briefed the Minister on the grand commissioning of the relocated 150MW AMERI Power Plant, now Kumasi 1 Thermal Power Plant (K1TPP).

The Regional Minister, Mr. Osei-Mensah said the relocation of the power plant from Aboadze to Anwomaso, would help to stabilise the power situation in the middle belt of the country, especially, greater Kumasi and urged the VRA to expedite efforts towards the operationalisation of the plant.

He pledged his support as the political head of the region, to ensure a successful commissioning.
