RTIC Officials visit VRA RTI Unit

A three-member delegation from the Enforcement, Investigations and Compliance Unit of the Right to Information Commission (RTIC), have paid a working visit to the VRA RTI Unit to assess the Authority’s level of compliance with the provisions of the RTI Act, 2019 (Act 989).

The visit was also to deepen and enhance mutually beneficial relations as well as ensure VRA complies with the obligations placed on it by the RTI Act.

Following a successful interaction, Leader of the RTIC team commended the VRA RTI Unit for the good work done and expressed satisfaction with VRA’s initiative to publish RTI-related articles in its Corporate Newsletter as a form of sensitisation to staff.

He was received by Chief Executive of the VRA, Mr. Emmanuel Antwi-Darkwa and the Deputy Chief Executive (Engineering & Operations), Ing. Edward Obeng-Kenzo, who briefed him on the operations of the Station and then proceeded on a tour.

Present at the meeting were Mr. Samuel deGraft-Johnson, VRA’s Designated RTI Officer, Surv. David Adomako, Director, Office of the Chief Executive, Michael Hammond, Assistant Right to Information Officer and officials from RTIC.
