VRA Bags Six (6) Prestigious Awards at 2024 SSI Awards

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has solidified its position as a trailblazer in sustainability and corporate responsibility by bagging six prestigious awards at the 2024 Sustainability and Social Investment (SSI) Awards in Accra.

The event, held under the theme "Climate Action Now: Accelerating Decarbonization and Building Resilience," recognized organizations making transformative strides in mitigating climate change and fostering resilience.

The awards won by VRA were: Best Company in Renewable Energy Integration, Best Company in Supporting Local Content, Best Company in Employee Volunteering Initiatives, Best Company in Good Governance & Transparency in Sustainability Reporting, Best Company in Supporting Health Institutions, and the Best Health Awareness Education Program.

The awards for Best Company in Supporting Local Content, Best Company in Employee Volunteering Initiatives, and Best Company in Good Governance & Transparency in Sustainability Reporting are in recognition of VRA’s impactful strategies to enhance economic and social outcomes, creating lasting value for stakeholders.

Similarly, the Best Company in Supporting Health Institutions and Best Health Awareness Education Program awards highlight VRA’s exceptional contributions to corporate social responsibility, particularly in the health sector.

The Best Renewable Energy Integration award celebrates VRA’s efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio through groundbreaking solar projects, reducing dependence on fossil fuels and advancing Ghana’s transition to a sustainable energy future.
