VRA Engages Eastern Regional Minister and Key Stakeholders on 2024 Emergency Preparedness Plan

Management of the Volta River Authority (VRA) on July 23, 2024, engaged with the Eastern Regional Coordinating Council in Koforidua in line with efforts to sensitize key stakeholders about the Authority’s Emergency Preparedness Plan (EPP).

Present at the engagement were the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Seth Kwame Acheampong, District Chief Executives, officials of NADMO, and other stakeholders.

In his address, the Deputy Chief Executive (Services) of VRA, Ing. Ken Arthur, stated that the engagement was part of proactive efforts by the Authority to inform stakeholders about the 2024 Emergency Preparedness Plan with the communities which are located south of the Akosombo Dam.

During the meeting, the Authority provided a comprehensive overview of the current wet conditions in each District within the catchment area of the Volta River, projecting minimal impact in the event of a precautionary discharge from the Akosombo Dam.
