VRA Holds Gender Mainstreaming Workshop for Directors and Managers
A two-day Gender Mainstreaming Workshop was held for Directors and Managers of VRA on May 28 and May 29, 2024.
The Workshop, hosted at the premises of the Ghana Employers Association (GEA) in Accra, sought to enlighten participants on how gender norms impact workplace disparities as well as how to utilize gender mainstreaming to identify and rectify underlying gender imbalances.
The Deputy Chief Executive (Services), Ing. Kenneth Mensah Arthur, in his opening remarks re-affirmed the Authority’s commitment to fostering gender inclusivity. He noted that the Authority had developed a Gender Action Plan, which among other things, seeks to educate employees on the value of gender diversity to enhance efficiency at the workplace.
He urged participants to embed gender mainstreaming principles into their day-to-day operations to create a more equitable working environment that enhances the Authority’s overall performance and reputation.
At the close of the workshop, participants expressed their commitment to translating the insights gained into concrete actions to promote gender equality and the Authority’s business.
