VRA Recognized As One Of "GEA Top 10 Trainers For The Year" at 2023 Ghana Employers' Association AGM

The Volta River Authority (VRA) has been recognized as one of the "GEA Top 10 Trainers for the Year" for 2023 at the 64th Annual General Meeting of the Ghana Employers' Association (GEA), held in Accra.

The meeting follows the Volta River Authority's ongoing sensitization efforts in downstream communities south of the Akosombo Dam, which were impacted by the spillage last year. The VRA has so far engaged traditional authorities, religious leaders and opinion leaders in the North Tongu and South Tongu Districts at sensitization workshops.

The prestigious award, which celebrates VRA's outstanding commitment to training and development in the employment sector reinforces the Authority’s reputation as a leader in Ghana’s energy sector, not only for its technical contributions but also for its dedication to nurturing talent and fostering growth in the workforce.

Present to receive the award for VRA were the Director, Human Resources, Mr. Dominic Ofosuhene; Manager, Learning Development and Talent Management, Mr. Frederick Larbi; and Manager, Resourcing and Documentation, Mrs. Tandy Chothia. Also present were the Managing Director, Volta Lake Transport Company, Mrs. Rose Appiah Okyere; and Manager, Human Resources and Administration, Mr. Thomas Ameyaw.

The GEA’s Annual General Meeting serves as a platform to discuss key issues affecting the employment landscape in Ghana, with a focus on innovation, employee welfare, and sustainable practices. This year’s event brought together representatives from various industries and sectors to celebrate excellence in diverse areas of human resource management and development.
