Signing of Agreement to Commence the Kpong Generating Station Retrofit Project

A contract signing ceremony was held on July 3, 2013, between the Volta River Authority and Andritz Hydro to commence the Kpong Generating Station retrofit project.

Present at the ceremony were the Chief Executive of the Volta River Authority, Mr. Kweku Andoh Awotwi, and his deputies, some Directors of VRA, as well as a delegation from Andritz Hydro.

In a speech, the Project Manager of the West African Power Pool explained the inception of relations between the Volta River Authority and Andritz Hydro.

The signing of the contract was done by Mr. Kweku Andoh Awotwi on behalf of VRA; the Head of Sales of Andritz Hydro, Mr. Michael Haslinger; and witnessed by the Managing Director of Andritz Hydro; Mr. Wilhelm Karanitsch and the Director of Legal Services; Mr. Raymond Lartey.

Mr. Michael Haslinger in his speech reiterated Andritz Hydro’s commitment to fulfill its part of the contract. Mr. Kweku Andoh Awotwi also thanked Andritz Hydro and hoped there will be a cordial relationship between Andritz Hydro and the Volta River Authority in the fulfillment of the project.
