VRA's PSWU of TUC Holds Quadrennial Delegates Congress

The of Public Sector Workers Union (PSWU) of Ghana Trade Union Congress (GTUC) Volta River Authority (VRA) division held its quadrennial delegates conference in Akuse under the theme: "Achieving Public Power Sector Excellence: The role of the union".

Addressing delegates at the congress, the CE of VRA Mr. Kweku Awotwe lauded the organizers for choosing a theme that reflects the Authority's vision of setting the standard for public sector excellence in Africa. He urged the union to collaborate with management to make this vision a reality. He encouraged the delegates to sensitize their members about the need to use more modernized approaches such as dialogue in solving labor disputes than strike actions and protests.

The chairperson of the union Madam Esther A. Asafo expressed the Union's gratitude to management for their support over the years and pledged the Union's preparedness to work hard in hand with management to achieve the Authority's vision and mandate.

The congress retained the interim executive team for another term during an election in fulfillment of the requirements of their constitution. Participants to the congress were drawn from all VRA locations spread throughout the country.
